About
HaulHard is a side project by Teagan Dixon, an indie developer in Bozeman, Montana, building tools the trucking-software market overlooks because the trucking-software market sells to fleet brass, not drivers. The wedge: parking that’s actually there, voice you can use with greasy gloves on, NBI bridge clearance pinned on the route. The audience: the person at the wheel, not their boss.
Why this product
Sit through any trucking software demo and the customer is always the dispatcher. Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Trimble — billion-dollar platforms whose product budget goes to compliance dashboards and fleet KPIs. The driver is the data point those platforms generate, not the customer they serve. Driver-side UX is whatever’s left after telematics, dispatcher tooling, and quarterly safety reports have eaten the roadmap.
Meanwhile the independent trucker fills the gap by running five or six apps in parallel: Trucker Path for parking, Mudflap for fuel, Genius Scan for permits, Pilot myRewards for the loyalty card, BigRoad for the log. The phone in the cradle becomes a launcher; nothing talks to anything else; data lives at whoever’s carrier you’re running for that month.
HaulHard inverts that. We sell to the person at the wheel and we treat their data as theirs. Trip history, fuel records, permits — all in an account that survives a job change and exports any time you ask.
Who’s building it
Teagan Dixon — founder, sole developer at the moment. Background in software engineering and ed-tech (Agoge Development; the Agoge Platform / UniversalGrader). Builds out of a home office in Bozeman, MT. Reachable at feedback@haulhard.com.
Heavy-haul advisor (unnamed publicly, with permission pending) — an active wide-load operator who has driven the bridge-clearance and permit-aware-routing requirements from day one. The product is built in conversation with someone who actually hauls oversize loads.
What’s in v1
v1 ships six features, deliberately:
- Real-time parking availability + driver ratings. Loves and Pilot live data layered with crowdsourced status from drivers already at the stop. Free tier; no premium-parking paywall.
- Bridge clearance overlay. 600,000+ bridges from the FHWA National Bridge Inventory, color-coded against your loaded height on every route.
- Voice-first interaction. Wake word "Hey HaulHard" + four tightly scoped intents (find parking, find fuel, log break, what’s my hours). No conversational LLM in the cab.
- Bundled fuel discovery. Mudflap + Pilot myRewards prices, sorted by best discount per gallon for your linked cards.
- Trip log + manual HOS countdown. Driver-owned data; export at any time.
- Driver-owned everything. Survives job changes. Goes with you.
What’s deliberately not in v1: fleet-management dashboards (we’re not a fleet platform), an FMCSA-certified ELD (your carrier’s ELD remains the legal record), a load board (DAT and Truckstop already do this), or a $30/mo tier (the daily-driver tools stay free; v2 ships permit scanning at a premium).
Status
v1 is in active development. Beta opens late 2026 to a small cohort of owner-operators and heavy-haul independents. Domain registered 26 April 2026. Backend live in production; mobile app pre-store-submission. No press releases, no funding round, no employees yet — this is a single founder + a single advisor and a clear scope.
Press kit
Journalists, partners, and analysts: please cite HaulHard (one word, both H’s capitalized) and link to haulhard.com.
Brand mark: the HaulHard "H" — two heavy uprights with a forward-canted crossbar suggesting motion, in trucker amber on near-black. Available on request as PNG (1024px) or SVG. Requested for marketing use? Email feedback@haulhard.com with what you need.
Quotable positioning paragraph (use as-is, no permission needed):
"HaulHard is a driver-purchased mobile app for over-the-road trucking. The wedge is real-time parking availability, voice-first AI for hands-busy use, and NBI bridge-clearance overlay. Built for owner-operators and heavy-haul independents in Bozeman, Montana."
Spokesperson: Teagan Dixon, founder. Available by email; phone interview by appointment.
How we make money (when we do)
Daily-driver tools are free during beta and stay free at v1 launch. The intent: build the audience around the parking-and-bridge-clearance loop first, sustain via fuel-partner margin (TruckSmarter model), then ship a paid tier in v2 that earns its $10–15/mo through permit scanning and AI route optimization for the wide-load and HAZMAT operators who feel that pain hardest. We will publicly commit to a 30-day notice before any feature you currently use moves behind a paywall.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell driver location data. We don’t share trip history with carriers, brokers, or insurers. We don’t partner with ad networks. We don’t do "free with ads" — there will never be ads in HaulHard. The full data-handling commitments are in the Privacy Policy.
Contact
feedback@haulhard.com reaches the founder. We read every message. Beta-tester applications go to the same address with your typical run, truck specs, app frustrations, and which ELD you carry today (Samsara, Motive, Geotab, Trimble, BigRoad, or none).
